Child Is On Isomil For Rashed From Consuming S26. Gaining Weight After Restarting S26. Advice?

Hi Doctor, my son is now 18mths old & has been on isomil since he was around 6mths old due to rashes from consuming s26 when he was a newborn. I was thinking to switch back to s26 recently after thinking that he no longer face any rashes problem now. The problem is, though he does not have any rashes problem but I noticed that he has been gaining weight since we gave him s26 for the past 2 weeks. So is consuming s26 can result to my son's weight gain?

Hi,

Thank you for your query.

Isomil provides 68 kCal/100 ml. of the feed after reconstitution. However I could find the caloric value of s26 and hence cannot comment if this formula is the reason for the weight gain. Other factors which affect weight gain are:
1. Quantum of total intake of food.
2. Concentration of the feed.
