Child Is Urinating Frequently. No Infection In Urine Sample

My 9 year old daughter is having to urinate very frequently and mainly at night. She will go over 20 times before she is able to get to sleep. I took her to the pediatrician and the urine sample showed no infection. They said it seemed her bladder was spasming, but don t know why. It s been going on for over a week and I don t know what to do. She is not resting and ends up crying out of frustration.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi
In children Type 1 Diabetes will present with polyuria. Is there any history of weight loss or excessive intake of water or excessive eating? As urine examination showed no infection ,ultrasound of abdomen and pelvis should be done to rule out cystitis(urinary bladder infection),and urine should be tested for sugar and ketone bodies and blood should be tested for glucose to find out diabetes after consulting your Doctor.

Hi
Thanks for your query.
symptoms are suggestive of urinary infection. it can be because of hyperactive bladder also I advise to to take her to pediatric urologist ,will suggest for urine culture,.avoid fluid intake 2 hours before sleep.,avoid bubble bath as well.
Your child will be well soon
