Child Losing Weight. Why Does He Feel Full?

My sister (55 yrs old) has been losing weight with out trying for a few months. When she eats, she feels full so is not eating much. I suggested she consult a doctor specializing in Internal Medicine. Any suggestion of what could cause this 'full feeling' causing her to eat very little. She also has been tired all the time.
Thank you.

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hi there ~

I understand your concern for your sister. I wonder why you mention child in the header of the question. I wonder if your sister is losing a lot of weight, a loss of greater than 10% body weight within a period of a month would be serious and should initiate testing for malignancies and other infectious diseases. Please visit with a doctor as soon as possible. If not, a psychiatrist can help with the weight loss associated with depression and anxiety. I hope this helps.

Take care and have a lovely day!
