Child Requires Vaccinations. Will It Cost Too Much?
Hi, My daughter is 60 days old, in Chennai. Child specialist near my home we given us a chart for vacinations for monthly twice and injections cost 2500 Rs 1st time 2nd time 3500RS. Now he asked me to bring her next 2 months also similarly 2 times and will cost 6000Rs per month. When i checked with my friends, they say yes for 3 months more injections will give but wont cost more than 1000- 1500 Rs. I am really worried will it cost too much? and every month 2 times needed ? If you can not afford to buy the vaccines for your child, why don't you take her to a nearby Govt. health center / Govt. hospital?
Government of India has vaccination programme(National Immunization Schedule) for every Indian child free of cost.
Your child will get all the vaccination FOR FREE.
Please visit your local Government hospital immediately. She has already missed some vaccines.
These are the vaccines included in Indian National Immunization Schedule
1. Birth -BCG, OPV 0 (for institutional deliveries)
2. 6 weeks - DTwP1, OPV1, HepB1, BCG ( if not given at birth)
3. 10 weeks - DTwP2, OPV2, HepB2,
4. 14 weeks - DTwP3, OPV3, HepB3,
5. 9-12 months - Measles
6. 16-24 months - DTwP (booster-1), OPV4, MMR
7. 5-6 years - DTwP (booster 2)
8. 10 years TT
9. 16 years TT

The cost of vaccinations depend on which you are opting for or your doctor advising you. The combination vaccines, the acellular pertussis combination vaccines will u cost more. And other optional vaccines like rota and pneumococcal will cost you even more. So the cost of the vaccines depend on which your child recieving or offered by your doctor .

the vaccines provided to you are optional vaccines ...............you should go for them if you can relly afford them after discussing with your pediatrician
there are various brands of rota virus vaccine and pneumococcal vaccine which cost a lot
so you discuss with your pediatrician
if you cannot afford them...........you go the nearest health care center (primary health care center , government) there IAP recommended vaccines which include DTP and oral polio ..........hepatitis B are given free of cost
do not miss any of the vaccination as advised in national immunization schedule
