Child Suffered Dehydration Due To Vomiting, Diarrhea. Cure?
my son started vomiting on Monday morning. Had to be hospitalized by Monday evening due to dehydration. was sent home after receiving fluids and anti-naseua meds. He started with diarrehea the day after and still has it. he keeps leaking this watery fluid in his pants. Also has really bad smelling gas. is this normal, does it mean he is reaching the end. Has not vomited again since the hospital on Monday. It's now Wed evening.
Hi dear,
Your child is suffering from infection of the bowel. Diarrhea is self resolving. It will stop on its own in few days. No need to worry. Just keep him hydrating with fluids. Give buttermilk, tender coconut water, plain water, rice kanji. Give ORS packet which needs to be dissolved in water and give sips whenever loose stools.AS long as you are giving fluids adequately and child is passing urine frequently you need not worry. His diarhea will settle on its own.
Take care
