Child Suffers From Cold Every Year Before October. Prescribed Montek. Any Side Effects?

HALLO DOCTOR, MY SELF TAPASH CHAKRABORTY. I HAVE ONE SON AGE 4 YEARS. IN EVERY YEAR HE IS SUFFERING FROM COLD IN COMING OF OCTOBER MEANS CHANGE CLIMATE. BUT OTHER MONTHS HE IS VERY FINE. DOCTORS PRESCRIBED MONTEK LC KID TABLE USE FOR TWO MONTHS ONE TABLET EACH DAY. MY QUESTION HOW FAR IT IS BEST FOR CHILD, HAS ANY SIDE EFFECT. AFTER WHICH AGE MY SON HE CAN TOLERATE THIS CLIMATE. PL. CONFIRM ME

The symptoms that you have mentioned are that of cold at the onset of winters.

This is associated with climate change and it is an intrinsic body response to external enviorment. In simple words, it is an allergy developing to enviornmental change.



The medicine prescribed is Montekeulast (Montek). This preparation helps to control the symptoms of allergy.few points that you should keep in mind:

Do not discontinue the medicine without consulting your doctor.

Keep it in tightly closed bottle out of reach of other children in family.

In case you forget to give your kid the dose, then give it as soon as you remember.
Do not use the medicine beyond the expiry period.



There are some side effects of this medicine: Headache, dizziness, upset stomach, tiredness, stuffy nose, flue like symptoms, fever, eash, difficulty in breathing.



If you experience any of these symptoms, consult your doctor.



Regarding the future course of the disease, there is possibility of developing asthma in future.

The further course can vary.

You have to remain in touch with the treating doctor.
