RESPECTED SIR, MY DAUGHTER AGE IS 15 YEARS .FROM 04/08/2012 MY DAUGHTER IS TAKING A MEDICINE TABLET ''SEVISTA''-60 MG. UP TO 3 MONTHS TAKING TWICE IN A WEAK SUNDAY AND THURSDAY.AFTER THAT 3 MONTHS ONLY ONE TABLET ON SUNDAY.AND NOW FROM FEB/13 TAKING HALF TAB OF SEVISTA-60 MG ONLY SUNDAY.IT IS PRESCRIBED BY DR.MRS.SUMAN JAIN (GYNAE & OBST),FICMCH,CONSULTANT GYNAECOLOGIST,REGD NO.4340/0000 JAIPUR RAJASTHAN INDIA C/O ADARSH NURSING HOME, NOW I HAVE SEE A LITTLE PROBLEM YHAT MY DAUGHTERS WAIT HAS INCREASE 2 KG IN APPRX ONE YEAR.SO KINDLY SUGGEST ME WHAT SHOULD I DO AND CAN I CONTINUE THIS TABLET. The salt ormeloxifene in Sevista is prescribed to control menorrhagia (excessive bleeding). However in your daughter's case menstruation may not be regular at this age and hence there will be occasional heaving bleeding. The drug should not be given regularly unless you are using it as a birth contraceptive.
It shall be better if you discuss with the doctor and have patience. With passage of time the menstrual periods will become regular and should not be heavy.
