Child With Conjunctivitis In Left Eye, Spiking Fever, Complains Of Headache, Stomach Pain, Has Rash Around Nose And Torso. Suggestion?

Hello- my 5 year old son has conjuntivitis in the left eye... Fevers spiking since wednesday 99.8-103.9 (rectal)... Today he is complaining of a headache and his tummy hurting right before he fell asleep. During the day today a rash appeared (small red spots appeared around his nose and torso)... He is eating so-so... Drinking well...no vomiting- never complained of a headache before

Hi Frances, I think you immediately need to show your son to a pediatrician right away to get him checked for other signs of Meningitis which is a serious infection of covering of brain. It may turn out to be a case of simple viral fever only but meningitis is serious disease which needs to be ruled out first.
