Child With Fever, Nasal Congestion, Reddish Eye. Flu?
Hello, my 5-yr daughter has been having fever (100-101 deg) since afternoon. She also has nasal congestion since morning. Now she has woken up in the middle of the night due to congestion and her right eye is red and watery. I suspect flu and red eye is due to congestion. If the fever persists till morning, then will show her to a pediatrician . What could this be?

Give her paracetamol,nasal decongestants and plenty of fluids and rest.
If her eyes get sticky and pus like give her antibiotic eye drops,

Your daughter is having fever,nasal congestion.watery eyes ,these are mostly symptoms of viral infection and usually takes few days to settle.
I suggest you to give paracetamol for fever 6 hourly if fever is above 100F,give antihistamine like benadryl as per dosage.give plenty of fluids,lukewarm water will be soothing,give her simple bland diet.give her adequate rest.
In case symptoms persist get her evaluated by pediatrician.
