Child With Fever, On Adol Drops. Administered With Suppository. Having Loose Motion. Suggestions?

Hi Doctor santhosh my daughter who is 2yrs 2 mths had fever 2 days back and we gave her adol drops 1.5ml for 2 days but did not help we then took her to the doc who gave her suppository with 1 dose her fever subsided but we have noticed that she is passing loose stools from the second day of giving her adol drops , pls let me know is this a case of adol overdose or is she allergy to adol . The loose motions are not very loose though but not as usual.pls advice.

hi ! Adol drops contains paracetamol which is not known to cause loose motions. dose is fine too. the culprit here is either the suppository which can act as contact laxative or it may be viral diarrhoea. both conditions are self limiting though.most probably it is because of the suppository as the motions are not very loose. hope that will solve your query. take care
