Child With Pus In Urine, Fever. What Is Causing The UTI?

my daugther is +3 in urine strip for pus cells?negative for protein what is probable cause of this?im so worried.since im off tomorrow i have o bring her to the doctor and have her blood check.now she has fever gave her tempra.can you give me idea what maybe the cause of her UTI.until now shes using pampers.my email add: YYYY@YYYY

Hello.

Thanks for your query.

Urinary tract infections are not uncommon in that age. The risk is increased in girls, children with constipation or the ones that still need diapers. So you should not worry too much about that. You should see a doctor so that he can prescribe antibiotics if the diagnosis is confirmed.

By the way, the urine strip alone is not sufficient for a diagnosis.

There could be several causes of urinary tract infection.
Drinking less water is one of them. Congenital abnormalities of the urinary tract should be identified if there are recurrent episodes of UTI.
What is her age?

What are the other complaints she is having?
Does she have increased frequency of urination or burning urination?

thanks for your quiry at HCM
is it for the first time
its a common problem in the girls due to short urethra and close proximity with the anus
and also when pamper is not earler changed when she passes stool, do get her urine culture and sensitivity done to find the bug.
