Child With Recurring Fever, Excessive Sleep, Swelling And Pain On Legs Due To Bug Bites. What Can Be Done?

Hi, I have a 4 year old daughter who has had fever for the last 18 hrs (axillary temp of 38.5 C). She is very sleepy - took a 3 hour nap yesterday afternoon, didn t eat much at dinner, but once given ibuprofen , she was her old self again within 30 minutes. Temperature returns after 6 hours. She has slept 12 hrs so far and is still sleeping. She has had some bug bites, likely mosquitoes on her legs that are very swollen (which is usual for her). She doesn t complain of any other aches. Should we wait it out and see? Today is a national holiday in Canada - all but ERs are closed. Thank you for your guidance! J

thanks for your quiry at HCM
kindly monitor the temperature pattern, and use mosquito repellents,
in case of increasing temperature use tapid water sponging and then give antipyertics
apply cold sponging at the site of bite and get her Malarial parasite smear test done ,i hope this reply satistied you or
