Child With Swollen Ear, Hot And Red Painful Bumps. No Help From Zyrtec And Cortisone Anti Itch Cream. Any Thoughts?
My 8 year old son has a swollen ear with bumps and it is very hot and red. The other ear has the same thing but not as bad. He has a couple of spots on his jawline as well. At first it was very itchy but now he says it hurts. He takes Zyrtec every evening and we have been putting cortisone anti itch cream on it as well
Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum. It appears that that he has a an infection, or a bite and a secondary infection. If it is only allergic reaction also, there is a possibility of the secondary infection over it, so when it is more than 2days duration, you have to give him antibiotics. I advise you to consult a physician for diagnosis and treatment. I usually prescribe to my patient with such symptoms cifixime 2oomg B.D, steroids in low dose, chlorpheneramine maleate. Wishing for a quick and complete recovery.
