Chronic Joint Pain, Swelling. Vitamin D Deficiency. RA Factor Negative. How To Reduce Pain?
Hi, I am having, cronic joint pain and swelling. the swelling becomes more at night. after the blood test I found that my vitamin D level is 4 (very less than normal). So sugest me regarding this, I want to know the extreme swelling and pain in my joints (entire body including neck,handfingers, knee ,shouldr) due to vitamin difficiency. The RA factor is showing _ve,. Please advice Age : 50 Female

Thanks for posting your query.
According to description, it seems you might be suffering from osteomalacia which occurs due to deficiency of vit D.
Some other tests should also be done to find out if a kidney problem or other disorder is causing the problem. These tests include: ALP (alkaline phosphatase) isoenzyme,PTH.
I advice you take diet rich in vitamin D and getting plenty of sunlight . Take vitamin D, calcium, and phosphorus supplements by mouth after descussing with your doctor. You can take Tablet Motrin 1 tablet with food as and when required (upto 4 tablets daily) for joint pain.
