Hi there doc. I am from German town Fredericksburg, TX. I have been having some ear stuff going on lately. It all started about 4 or 5 months ago when I attempted to remove earwax with q-tips. I ended up getting them clogged up. They eventually naturally unclogged. But since them, my ears have been doing some funny things. I am not a heavy drinker, but I will go out maybe once or twice a week and have a good amount of beer with friends. What has been happening as of recently is when I wake up the next day, one or the other of my ears feels clogged up again. It doesn t seem to be a wax problem because I have tried the debrox once or twice after each time it s happened and it doesn t usually make too much of a difference. There is not usually pain associated with it UNLESSS I mess around with it trying to unclog it with my fingers or a q-tip or something. I know at this point that that is the worst thing to do, but what would you recommend I do to heal it up if it s an infection? Does that even sound like an infection to you? I really don t know what to think.
Hi, you seem to have wax in ear which you have pushed with the ear buds. It is quiet common and if there is a well formed wax plug, taking it out with ear buds is very difficult and usually pushed it down and when it touches the ear drum gives a clogged feeling. You blockade got relieved when that plug got displaced from the ear drum but it remained inside the canal and occasionally blocks it again and again. Please visit an ENT and get your ears cleaned. The wax solvent drops usually do not help in such situations and cleaning by a doctor is the solution. There is less chance of any infection from your history. Regards
