Common To Have Nosebleed While Suffering From Cough, Cold, Fever?

Hi! My 3 1/2 year old has been sick for a few days - fever, cough/cold...this morning, he woke up with dried blood around his nose (but no fever). He also had slight bleeding coming from his nose after he sneezed. Is this common? He has never had a nose bleed before.
