Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.
With the available described symptoms, there appears to high possibility of peptic iulcer disease with decreased gastrointestinal motility.
Presence of nausea, burps and past history of acid reflux suggests the diagnosis.
As such there appears to be no correlation between past history of gall bladder surgery and present symptoms.
You should consult with internal medicine specialist/ gastroenterologist and should go for thorough check up.
You should also go for complete blood count, thyroid profile, blood sugar, serum electrolytes.
You should also go for endoscopy with biopsy and urea breathe test for H. pylori bacteria' a culprit agent for peptic ulcer disease.
Meanwhile, you should take proton pump inhibitors along with prokinetics.
You should avoid tomatoes, citrus fruits. tea, coffee, oily and spicy food.
Take care,
Dr. Mayank Bhargava

Internal Medicine Specialist Dr. Priya S K's  Response
Hello Robert,
Thanks for coming to HCM. Sorry to hear about your problems. Can you please tell more about:
- What is your age ?
- Surgery you had for acid-reflux (when, why, what medicines you were given along for acid-reflux, do you still take any medicines for acid reflux)
- What are the medicines you are currently taking ?
- Were you tested/treated for H. pylori infection ?
- Do you get abdominal pain/cramps & bloating, before/after food ?
- How are your bowel habits ?
- What is your stress level ?
Your symptoms are due to acid-reflux disease, but please tell us about above questions to rule out other possible reasons. Please ensure you maintain a routine of eating, sleeping on time, try to do some meditation/yoga.
