Continuous Dull Pain In Left Side Below The Breast, Worsened While Lying Down. No History Of Bumps, Fall. Serious?

I have a ongoing dull pain on my left side about three inches below the bottom of my bra area. Wondering what it could be? I have not bumped or fallen to cause what would be bruising or anything. It hurts most when I lie down at night on the bed. It hurts bad enough that I cannot sleep on that side. Could it be serious?

Hello,
Welcome to healthcaremagic.
There are lot of causes for left sided chest pain other than injury.
Here i list out some causes based on your symptoms.
1. chest wall pain- may be due to costochondritis.
2. Breast pain or mastalgia- if you are in menopausal stage.

These can be treated by NSAIDS.

3. Angina or Myocardial infarction
4. Lung diseases

To rule out lung or heart diseases you need to take ECG, X-Ray and other tests.

5. GERD (gastro- esophageal reflux disease )

These need antacids, Proton pump inhibitors and anti emetic drugs.

Please consult your doctor as it is essential to rule out myocardial infarction or angina immediately.
