Hello,
Take adequate water to prevent
dehydration. Take light diet and stay at rest. Blood in the stool needs prompt medical attention. You are advised to get a stool (R/E and C/S) examination done to detect infection or any other pathology. Have a check-up with your local doctor and inform him about your symptoms. He may consider replacing the medicine with other that suits you better and also to make sure your injuries are healing well.
Avoid taking painkillers at present. Certain medications (like
diclofenac) if taken in empty stomach cause gastric/intestinal bleeding.
Diarrhea,
abdominal pain, mucus, and blood in the stool are sometimes caused due to infection or side effect of taking antibiotics to which a person may be sensitive or allergic.
Always keep your treating doctor informed about antibiotic that don't suit you. Stay at rest, your symptoms should improve, but if symptoms worsen, go to ER, you need medical aid. Never take medicine in empty stomach.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr Nupur K., General & Family Physician
