when i was about 8 9yrs old my knees would hurt why is that? could i have arthritis at a young age?

YES YOU HAVE A CHANCE OF ARTHRITIS IN LATER AGE THIS IS THE ONE OF THE CAUSES OF ATHRITIS.

At an younger age like that , it could be vitamin deficiency causing your limb pains.There are diseases where arthritis like picture is seen in young age itself.I advise you to visit your Physician and get evaluated for Hemoglobin and complete blood picture.Detailed history and examination can reassure about the arthritis .
