Could I Have Contracted Hep C From My Partner During Oral Sex?

My partner of 2 years now, told me a couple months into our relationship that he was Hep C positive (told probably from tattoos in the past) and that he was HSV 1 positive. I understand that many individuals have HSV 1 as indicated by chicken pox when little or cold sores which I have had a couple in my lifetime. I recently had many tests run as I have upcoming surgery scheduled. We have had unprotected oral, vaginal and anal sex. I have recently tested positive for antibodies HSV 1 and HSV 2. I have never had any signs or symptoms and have been told that I could just be a carrier due to my numbers being low. Could I have contracted this from my partner during oral sex?

Hello this is Dr. Herisa P. reading carefully your problem.
As far as I can understand about the situation you have described I want to let you know that Herpes simplex labialis is usually caused by the herpes simplex virus, type 1 (HSV-1), whereas the most common causative agent of genital herpes is herpes simplex, type 2 (HSV-2). BUT oral/genital sexual practices can allow the viral invaders to cross-infect, so that HSV-2 is responsible for herpes simplex labialis and HSV-1 is sometimes found to be causal for genital herpes. That's why during oral sex you can be in contact with the HSV2. The form of transmisstion is across epithelial mucosal cells as well as through skin interruptions, and migrate to nerve tissues, where they persist in a latent stage.

While Hepatitis C can be transmitted via blood transfusion, via sexual intercourse, and any form of injections such as tattooing ,sharing razors etc.

Best regards
