Could N.O. Fury Be Causing Heart Palpitations?

Hello Dr. Minz, my name is Leslie and I am an RN (PACU). My son who is 22 has been taking N.O. Fury pre-work out supplement for the last 2 months prior to going to the gym. This morning he had palpitations said his HR was around 160, had a hi BP and felt really bad (He is a firefighter, and the paramedic cked him out) he went to the ER, had the million dollar wk up--no MI, no PE labs wnl--I looked up this stuff--but not finding anything reputable on line--do you know anything about this stuff? It s new to me.

Hi there,
Any preworkout supplement contains caffeine alongwith other stimulants like albuterol. A case of having the supplement alongwith some other caffeine source(Soda, colas, coffee) could have triggered what you described due to a sudden spike in caffeine levels in blood. Uneasiness, Palpitations, a generalised state of anxiety. Reducing the dosage of the supplement along with plenty of hydration should take care of symptoms. Even if that does not help then stopping the supplement all together.
Thank you for your query.
