Could An Infant Turning Purple For Period Of Time Be Sign Of Breath Holding Syndrome?

Me and my wife baby sit our Great Grand daughter she is five months old and today she had a spell and held her breath and started shaking she done this and turned purple and her mother grabbed her and she came out of it. She has been taken to the doctor here and he said it was just Breath holding syndrome. I think it is something more. Any advice would be Greatly appreciated. Thank You so much.

Yes probably it was breath holding spell.
This is a behavior disorder. represented by babies when there wishes are not fulfilled or sudden any noxious stimuli had occurred.
It goes of its own after the age of 6 to 8 years.
Iron syrups are recommended for this as usually such children are iron deficient.
