Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 26 year old female and I have been diagnosed with acid reflux since I was a teenager. Over the last week and a half I have been having symptoms I am not really used to. I didnt know if it was because my acid reflux is getting worse or if it was something else going on possibly. It started with the normal nauseous feeling under my breastbone. Normally I can feel better when I eat and of course take medications. After a couple of days it turned into feeling a lot of pressure in my chest like a heavy feeling. I also started feeling bloated under my breastbone to the point where it was hard to breathe. Now since last night I have had a bad pain in my left arm, shoulder, and neck. Acid reflux has never been this bad for me before, but I was wondering if all of this can be symptoms of acid reflux. I have no insurance. Im only 26 and pretty healthy so I didnt think it was anything to do with my heart. Could I be wrong?
Yes, nausea may be due to acid reflux. Kindly take tab. Ondansetron for nausea. Along with that take tab. Pantoprazole after consultation. Avoid hot and spicy foods. Drink lot of water or fluids. Avoid heavy meal and sleep immediately after the food. Take soft food. If not getting relief, do upper GI endoscopy after consultation.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
