Could Brown Spots On The Face Be Hormone Related?

I have just started treatment for my low thyroid, it has been swollen for about 3 years and I am starting to get the textbook symptoms. I also have brown spots on the sides of my face, which I have been told are hormone-related, will Thyroid treatment help get rid of these brown patches?

hello and thank you for asking!
I have gone carefully through your concern.
Usually hypothyroidism does not cause brown patches. Vitiligo is an autoimmune skin disorder, manifested with patches in the skin and usually is long standind, so once they are present to not disappear.
Please attach a picture of the lesions so i can get a better image of them.
Will be a pleasure to help you further.
Kind regards,
Dr.Mirjeta
