Could Burning Skin, Stinging Pain In Body With Stiff Muscles Be Neurological Disorder?

For the past few months I have been experiencing various symptoms that seem to be neurologic in nature. Burning sensations on my skin, pin pricks of pain in random places, stiff muscles and joints. It is all seemingly random most of the time but the burning is mostly on my left thigh and my mid back. Pin pricks are most commonly in my head, chest, jaw, neck, and fingers. I have a spot on my spine that aches when I curl back back (as if doing a sit up) or when light pressure is applied. No fevers but always fatigued. The pin pricks feel like I am being poked with a needle at times, other times it feels like electrical shock in my bones. My doctor just shrugs at me. I have no pre existing conditions other than kidney stones and frequent UTI, and I had an xray that showed a POSSIBLE chiari malformation, which isnt a concern for me since I have no headaches or any other symptoms of that. Can someone point me in the direction of what kind of tests should be done to figure this out? Thank you.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* As per my clinical experience, the burning skin, stinging pain in the
body with stiff muscles and electric shock feeling indicate most likely
central nervous system related issue.

* The neurologist do evaluate the details of

- history
- physical examination with all peripheral reflexes muscle tone and power
- touch, pain, temperature senses all limbs

* Discuss the need of an EMG NCV (electromyography and nerve conduction study) report with your doc.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
