March 2014 I slept on a rather thick mattress-pillow for several hours....woke up with a stiff neck on the right side, the side under compression during out-of-posture sleep (laid on right side). Migraine headaches and severe neck pain developed....history is complex....last November after the first PT treatment was completed, the pain and symptoms became centralized to region C3-C4, where a very hard mass developed in my neck, with bone-like hardness. (I spent $4000 on two chiropractors, two physical therapists, one massage therapist, and finally saw a sports medicine doctor in June). The doctor gave a prescription for tramadol and ordered an MRI. C3-C4 has right posterior cervical lymph node of 1.6 cm in diameter (which was considered mild), among other things, like right facet arthropathy with secondary inflammation . I have to ask the radiologist what the hard mass actually is caused by....the lymph node or secondary inflammation or both. The doctor told me to see a general M.D. about the lymph node swelling, but it is directly linked to the trauma of sleeping incorrectly that night in March. Left lymph node is also inflamed, but not as much: There is to be noted to be mild upper cervical adenopathy bilaterally with the largest node measuring 1.6 cm in diameter. What do you think?....especially about the connection between the right lymph node and the coincidence of the improper sleeping. I know lymphoma are associated with many things. I have an appointment with Front Range Pain Center on Monday, as directed by the doctor that saw me. Those guys are surgeons, and it is very expensive. I am 63, about a year away from Medicare. Is there an alternative therapy?
