Could Cleft Lips Reoccur In The Second Baby?

My first baby was born with cleft lip even after 4-5 times ultrasond was done during the prgnency. I want to know is there any possiblity for same problem with second time . Also tell me how can i detect the same while pregnent? is it possible to check through ultrasound?

Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns. There is a chance for second child having the cleft lip but the incidence is low. It can be detected during the pregnancy at 20 weeks of gestation (at 4 1/2 to 5 month). It is called anomaly pregnancy scan where in it is done only in specialized center (Fetal scan center).

Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns. Cleft lip can occur in siblings eventhough it is rare. It can be detected by doing Anamoly scan (special scan done in higher centre by fetal medicine specialist)at 20 week pregnancy.
