Could Cold And Dryness In Throat Be The Side Effects Of Gemcal?

I am 43 years and have just been to have deficiency in calcium. Consequently, gemcal was prescribed for me. After taking is eight pills in eight days as recommended by the doctor, i now experience symtoms like dryness in my thoat and i have cold symptoms. my question is is this a normal reaction or should i discontinue using this drug? Your response would be greatly appreciated.Thanks

Hi,

Gemcal contains calcitriol, calcium carbonate and zinc is used to treat osteoporosis. It prevents bone loss and makes the bones stronger. This way it helps in preventing bone fractures. Side effects of Gemcal are nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, feeling thisty, constipation, stomach pain, frequent urination, dry mouth, runny nose, bleeding from nose, difficulty in breathing, blurred vision, sleep disturbances, change in taste, sinus pain, dizziness, fast heartbeat, allergic reactions etc.
