Could Cough Of A 9 Year Old Be Due To Tonsillitis?

My son (9y/o) has fever, the doctor said it was tonsilitis, there are red veins on my son's tonsil, my son said it doesn't hurt when he swallows, but he's got headache, and he vomited. before his fever he had dry cough, does his cough have soething to do with the tonsilitis?

Tonsillitis can sometimes begin with an upper respiratory tract infection which is associated with dry cough.
Tonsillitis can be treated with antibiotics like azithromycin or amoxicillin and clavulonate for a few days. Your doctor might have given this.
Meanwhile avoid clod drinks and do warm saline gargles.
