Could Coughing After Eating Be Due To Reflux Problem?

My six year old son coughs after eating or drinking. Dry,throat cleaning cough that starts within 2min of his fisrt bite / sip. It seems worse with white breadrolls as well as fizzy drinks. He had reflux as a baby and his ENT continued relux medication in addition to treating sinus up to the age of 4. Could the cough be a result of the reflux? How can we confirm? How can we treat?
