Hello,
Stop taking
paracetamol. It is causing your liver enzymes to rise. Paracetamol in high doses or its prolonged use can overwhelm the liver’s capacity and damage liver cells. This damage shows up as elevated
ALT, AST,
bilirubin, etc. In severe overdose it can even lead to
acute liver failure.
Livolin Forte is a nutritional supplement, a hepatoprotective product. You can continue to take it. Livolin Forte is used as a liver support supplement in liver dysfunction or mild liver enzyme elevation. If the underlying liver disease worsens despite taking it, your enzymes may still rise but that’s due to the disease, not the supplement. You are advised to take boiled water and boiled food. You can use a little olive oil to fry lean meat or eggs.
Take boiled vegetables, well-boiled whole grains and fruits and berries. Stay away from oily, fried food, refined flour and refined oil. You are advised to quit taking alcohol and stay away from
smoking and any other addiction. Get clinically examined by a GP, for any liver enlargements & other symptoms. Get repeat liver function tests done after 30 days of strict diet control.
If
obese, take walks regularly in the morning and evening. Exercise regularly. Monitor liver function tests (LFTs) regularly as advised. Do not take paracetamol often. Stay away from alcohol, and fatty diet while recovering.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
