Could Early Signs Be The Reason For Dark Complexion In Genitals?

Just wondering...My 4 month old son, I noticed that his genital area is a little lighter than his complexion. My hubby took him to the dr. today for his vaccinations and asked about it but the dr said that it was normal. Could this be an early onset of vitiligo? Would the pediatrician know about it and tell us or would he wait to see if things change before telling us? It started as a spot and now it's bigger.

Hi
Greetings
More than vitiligo, i would consider the possibility of fungal infection more likely.
Fungal infection may produce discolouration and lightening of colour tone.
I would suggest assessment from Dematologist for further management
