Could Fever Of A 10 Year Old Be Dengue Fever?

my son is turning 10 this december. he has fever since monday afternoon and despite the paracetamol we're giving him, his fever persists. His fever ranges from 38 - 39.4 degree celcius. btw, he just got back from an outdoor camping activity last weekend. I am worried that this could be dengue fever. what are the other symptoms of dengue?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear, welcome to healthcare magic forum.
Fever not responding to paracetamol usually indicates a bacterial infection like UTI. Viral fever like dengue usually will respond.
Other features suggestive of dengue are significant body ache, head ache, pain around eyes, body rash etc.
As the fever is persisting, we need further evaluation to find the exact cause, and treat accordingly. You doctor will guide you. You may be asked for investigations like blood and urine tests.
Meanwhile, take bed rest, have a light diet, and drink enough fluids.
Hope you will find this answer useful.
Wishing for a faster cure, thank you.
