Could Flu Shot Or Tylenol Cause Elevation Of AST/ALT Levels?

I had a flu shot last Saturday and had a reaction to it severe body aches, etc. On Monday I had a physical and today my doctor said my AST/ALT was high. 120 each. I have never been diagnosed with hepatitis. Do not drink excessively or use drugs. I did take Tylenol during my reaction, but do not take it regularly. Would the flu shot or the Tylenol cause my AST/ALT to spike.

Hello and welcome.

Al medications can influence the liver, but some are too mild to cause an elevation of liver enzymes. Medication like tylenol is too mild to cause an elevation, but a flu shot can certainly do the trick.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.
