Could Gaining Weight After The Intake Of Migraine Tablets A Side Effect Of It?

Hello,I am 23 year old. My doctor suggest some tablets on Migraine.Migraine. Rexipra-5,Eliwel 10 and Topiramate25mg are those tablets. I want to ask you that i am taking that tablet from 6 month and my weight get increasing day by day. Is any relation between these tablet and gaining weight. I am doing exercise on daily bases. What would you suggest me?

Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum.
Many drugs used for migraine and pain killers will have the effect of gaining weight, more over these are the drugs for continuous use.
The other causes for weight gain may be the diet,so it is a main factor for weight gain.If you are not taking much of fatty foods, calories, and junk foods, i advise you to restrict the drugs you are using to the period of pain only.
Take more of green leafy vegetables, pulses, sprouts,and
protein rich foods to have a healthy body.

Thanks for query on HCM.
Rexipra contains Escitalopram .
Eliwel contains Amitriptyline.
Topiramate is used to prevents migraine headaches.
Above all medicines do not have any significant side effect like weight gain.
Review your diet pattern.
Eat more nutritious,low calorie diet.
Drink more water,eat more fruits and green leafy vegetables.
Do exercise,yoga,meditation regularly.
Keep in touch with your doctor to review your condition and find out the exact cause of weight gain.
