Could Gingival Hyperplasia Be Due To Enalapril, Metoprolol Or Amlodipine?
Hello. I am a dentist with a meds question for you. I have a patient taking enalapril, metoprolol, and amlodipine, who has severe gingival hyperplasia, similar to thgat seen in dilantin patients. She also takes a statin. Can any of these drugs be causing the hyperplasia? from what I read, i am going with the amlodipine, but you are the MD.
HI Thank you very much for asking to HCM Non of the above drug causing the gingival hyperolasia, but I would like to draw your attension that your patient is taking multidrugs for the hypertension, where this can be controled either with single drug or along with diet control, so this is quite possible that interaction of these drug could cuase the gingival hyperplasia, and this effects may not be stated any where, I hope this clue could be helpful to you, have nice day.
