Could Having Protected Sex With Sex Worker Cause HIV?

hello my question is about HIV and STD approximately two weeks ago I had protected sex with a prostitute in Central America I know that the condom stayed in place the entire time the only act was vaginal intercourse but I also did touch her vagina to add a water based lube. after this encounter I realized just crazy and stupid this whole thing was and of course my mind is been going nuts on the fact if I have acquired HIV. in the last day I have started to get a slight sore throat and generally just don t feel all that well with some pain in my lower abdomen slight pain I plan on getting tested after 3 months but is that my only course of action at. This time if thisisconsidered a lowrisk encounter Thanks

Thanks for posting your query.

First of all your symptoms of sore throat or pain abdomen are not due to HIV.

Since you have used condom the chance of you getting infected is very less. But still I would recommend you to get tested for HIV now itself instead of waiting for 3 months .

A test called Western blot can detect HIV as early as 2 weeks, so kindly get this test done and revert back .
