Could High BP And Glazed Eyes Be The Symptoms Of Recurring Urine Infection?

Have a 91yo male. today he has a slightly elevated blood pressure. Eyes blazed a bit. and a little mixed up as far as memory. He is just getting over a urinary infection as he has finished all his anti-biotics. Could this be an infection coming back?

Hello there,
I can understand your concern. The symptoms you have mentioned are not suggestive of recurring urinary infection. In fact for his age a cause in the brain is what I suspect. Considering his elevated Blood pressure( it would have helped to know how much was his BP) it could be a mild stroke in the worst case scenario. The only way to know is a through medical examination and may be some CT or MRI. His urinary infection can be checked by getting a urine routine and microscopy and a repeat culture to ensure the infection has settled. As of now if his memory is suddenly worsening or BP is very high please visit a Physician who can examine him and suggest the necessary investigations.
Hope this helps.
Take care.
