Could Incontinence Be Due To Weak Pelvic Muscles?

Hi there. I had right side inguinal hernia repair two years ago through the open mesh procedur. It has never come right. Always been tender. I m suffering incontinence lately and want to know if it could be caused from weak pelvic muscles due to them not being used as much to try and nurse the pain and discomfort of hernia. I m an otherwise healthy 26yo male.

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
hello,
I have studied your case. Incontinence is never due to weak pelvic muscles in male. So I would suggest you to meet neurologist and find out cause of incontinence. it can be due to nerve compression in spine or some other problem.
As you are also saying that there is pain and inflammation at opertive site after surgery so I would recommend you to meet your operating surgeon. As sometime it can be due to poor repair of bad healing.
hope this answer will be helpful for you. let me know if there is any other followup questions.'
thanks
