Could Increasing Level Of Bilirubin Be Linked To Gerd?

I have just received the results of an Lft, the only abnormality was bilirubin at 22. Not amazingly high, but higher than the upper norm. Could this be linked to gerd? I have had gerd since birth, could my spleen be at fault. I have had left side flank pain for 5+ years.

Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.
I am Dr.R.K and I am pleased to assist you.

NO. GERD does not increase bilirubin level. Bilirubin level most often increases due to liver disease and sometimes due to blood related issues.

A complete LFT should be done to know what is the cause for the high bilirubin.

I hope that answers your question.
Regards,
Dr.R.K
