Could It Be True That Only Facet Joint Injections Can Be Given If Vertebra Is Bone On Bone?

I had an x-ray done on my lower spine and I was told that my vertebra are bone on bone. They said that surgery is not realistic and the only thing they could do is give me "facet joint injections". I was wondering if this is true that "nothing ' can be done other than the injections. I know this is hard to answer without seeing the x-rays but I was shot down as far as any hope in getting my lower spine fixed. Is there anyway you could tell me that what they are saying is true? The person I talked to is a F.N.P-C. not the surgeon himself.
