Hi,
Welcome to HCM. I have gone through your question and understand your concern

Weight loss can be seen with over active thyroid - hyperthyroidism. Please let me know the values of TSH and T4. If T4 is high and TSH is low you are having an over active thyroid disease.

In my practice I do an Ultra sound neck, and thyroid uptake scan in needed patients and then decide on treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help
With warm regards,
Dr Ajish TP (MD,DM)
