Could Lump On Sternum Which Is Getting Bigger Be Due To Hernia?

Hi I have a lump on my sternum which seems to be getting bigger. It is tender to touch, when I arch my back I can see it. Some days it is less noticable but whenever even the slightest pressure is put on it hurts and feels very tender.i would say I first noticed it 6months ago but seems tk be getting worse. Could this be a hernia?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

Your symptoms can be related to distal hernia.
I suggest to do an abdominal ultrasound for further evaluation.
If the diagnosis is confirmed I recommend to consult surgeon for the treatment.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Kind regards!
