Could Nerve Damage At The Site Of Injection Be Repaired?
Had nerve block under arm for thumb surgery, 8 months ago.for 24 hours after surgery arm was completely paralyzed, could not move or fell my arm,is this normal. Now nerve test shows nerve damage from sight of injection, and is getting worst. Can this be fixed, or will it keep getting worst, is this permanent?
Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement, Dr. Mukesh Chugh's Response
Hi The nerve damage following a injection usually recovers,it's surprising that it has not recovered till now. Keeping in mind the EMG NCV reports, the chances of recovery are bit doubtful. You need to see a neurologist /plastic surgeon for future planning . Take care
