Could Prolonged Cough And Low Grade Fever Be Indicative Of Swine Flu Despite Having Taken Flu Vaccination?
My husband and I had the flu vaccine in early November. Early Dec. I thought I was getting a cold, very runny nose tired and cold. I had a fever, never over 100. Several days I had a cough in my lower chest and during the last month it seems the cough has moved up and is now more in my upper chest. Sore throat has cleared. I am concerned about this cough and if I am contagious . My husband s has followed the same pattern. If this is swine flu, how long should it last? We are in our mid and upper 70s . Flu shot was a new thing for us. Thanks you. L. Mohler
Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum. It appears to be the chest infection with bacteria, secondary to the flu fever. It may turn into pneumonia, bronchitis, etc. Or primarily it may be tuberculosis, if the duration is more than the one month. Swine flu wont look like this in severity, and symptoms. I advise you to consult a physician for diagnosis and treatment. You may need to have X ray chest, and other tests for confirmation. Don't worry for any thing, the cough of the flu fever may stay up to 15 days, for clearence. Wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
