Could Red Irritating Bumps In Vagina Indicate Fungal Infection?

Yesterday I went to the doctor and was diagnosed with a yeast infection. There was no vaginal exam. I am 15 years old and have recently been sexually active. I am worried it might be more then a yeast infection. There are little red irritating bumps in my vagina. Is this a normal symptom of a yeast infection?

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Red bumps what you are having in vagina could be superficial skin infection by bacteria. It does not look like yeast infection right now as yeast infection would present with itching and vaginal discharge.
Kindly maintain good genital hygiene by washing the area with warm water and mild antiseptic solution like Savlon at least thrice daily. You can also use pH balancing solution like V-wash following this.
After drying, apply Neomycin cream on the lesions. If you find the lesions itchy, you can take Tablet. Levocetrizine once d day.
Wear loose fitting undergarments until the lesions heal completely. Try to minimize friction on affected areas. Avoid sexual activity until the lesions heal completely.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
