Could Red Spots On Penis After Having Unprotected Sex Be STD?

Hi Dr. Robert, i made the foolish decision of going home with a girl in Thailand who I ended up assuming was a working girl. I used a condom, but she gave me a unprotected blow job for about 20-30 seconds, and also when I pulled out during sex, the condom actually came off. I had a panic because I felt my uncovered penis might have come into contact with her vaginal wall at some point upon pulling out. After 6 days I actually developed small red spots around the rim of my glans penis and 3 smaller red dots on the glans itself. One of the red spots turned white the next day (7th day). I m obviously worried I ve contracted an STD like HSV, but there is no pain, itchiness or swelling of lymph in the groin. I should also add I did do some vigorous water sports that day and got a rash on my inner thigh which went away but these spots came up after this. Can you please advise me on whether to get tested, start/stop worrying and where to go from here? Thanks I m advance. K

Hello. Thank you for writing to us at healthcaremagic

As far as the spots are concerned they don't seem too worrying to me because they are just spots and not breaks in the skin Or ulcers/erosions which are more typical of genital herpes/Hsv.
Moreover, there are no symptoms that are usually associated with herpes i.e pain, burning sensation.
These spots seem more like they are due to candidal or yeast infection i.e candidal balanitis
Nevertheless, I would definitely suggest testing for STD's because you had unprotected receptive oral sex which can be a route for transmission of herpes, if the female giving oral sex had a history of cold sores on lip or mucosa.
Moreover, since you are not sure whether the penetrative sex was 100% protected or not.
Therefore I would suggest testing for all STD's like HIV, Genital Herpes, Syphilic, Chlamydia, Gonorrhea.
Screening for HIV and syphilis can be done earliest at 1 month and this should be repeated at 3 months for a conclusive result.
Herpes can be tested earliest at 2 weeks with blood test intended to detect circulating antibodies to the virus.
Chlaymdia and Gonorrhea can be tested with a swab test at 2 weeks after the sexual activity.
Moreover, if you develop any ulcer, erosion, urethral discharge or warts, growths or lumps in the genital region you must get your checked with a venereologist.
