Could Severe Back Pain Be Due To The Withdrawal Symptom Of Predmet?
hello doctor, I have ulcerative colitis and had a mild relapse recently due to which i started with 8 mg predmet.After 10 days i stopped having it.Now i m suffering from an intense back pain.Am i facing withdrawal symptoms?If so how long will this last and what can be the cure for it?

Predmet contains Methylprednisolone which is used to treat wide variety of medical conditions like severe allergic conditions, asthma, rheumatic disorder, skin and soft tissue disorder, eye disorder, systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).
If you abruptly stop taking Predmet or taper off too quickly, you might experience Methylprednisolone withdrawal symptoms such as severe fatigue, weakness, nausea, loss of appetite, body aches, joint pain, back pain, muscle pain, headache, drowsiness, confusion, upset stomach, peeling skin, weight loss etc. Withdrawal symptoms of Predmet could last for 2-8 weeks. The doctor may give you blood tests to check your cortisol levels as you taper off Predmet. You may need to taper off more slowly or go back to your regular if you have severe symptoms.
