Could Tailbone Pain After Sneezing Be Related To UTI?

My daughter is taking meds for UTI, she has one more day of meds and still hurts some, when suddenly her tailbone started hurting, especially when she sneezes, which is often with her allergies. She ll sneeze and get a sharp pain on her tailbone. Could this and UTI be related?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The pain in the tailbone is not commonly related to the urinary tract infection.

I suggest using anti-inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the pain of the tailbone.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
